Author: Jane Duncan
Title: My Friend Madame Zora
Description: Book is Very Good- in Fair dust jacket. Red Cloth binding, First Edition, St Martins Press, New York, 1963. Presentation copy, SIGNED and inscribed by Jane Duncan on the half-title, and dated Sept 1963. Her Sister-in Law's copy, it is inscribed "To Alice & John with love. Jane Duncan.". The book is clean and straight and tightly bound, though very yellowed. You can tell by sticking your nose inside that the reason this copy is yellowed is that it spent its life inside a real heilan' hame, by the fireside with pets and the rest! Curious that a US edition should be presented by the author. Perhaps she had been sent it for checking and had it to hand. The wrapper is yellowed and very edgeworn, but is now protected and looks acceptable. Size 8vo

You can tell by smelling inside that the reason this copy is yellowed is that it spent its life inside a real heilan' hame, by the smoky fireside The wrapper is yellowed and very edgeworn, but is now protected and looks acceptable. There is a slight spine lean, and a splash on the back cover at some stage has created a waterstain on the back board and wrapper. Title: The Greatest Wish in the World
Description: Book is Near Fine Suede binding, second edition, Chapman & Hall, London, 1917. A very attractive SUEDE LEATHER bound book, with the ttle blindstamped on cover, along with a nice child sitting in a garden motif. The curious thing is that the terra-cotta soft suede looks like it is a much later addition, it is still so beautifully supple and clean, however, I think it must be original. Top edge gilt, paper very yellowed, but very clean, and binding completely sound. Free of owner inscription, this is a gift-grade book. Size 16mo
