Description:
|
Book is Very Good in no dust jacket. Full-Leather binding, First Edition,
Jones & Co, London, 1833. This may be only one volume of a two volume set which appeared with this publisher and title. There is nothing to indicate the volume number, and it seems complete in itself, with spine embossed in gilt, simply, Hogarth's Works. Jones 1933 tight clean half-leather binding, spine and edges rubbed, heavy foxing to the extremities and endpapers, occasional foxing throughout, binding sound, internally excellent condition for the age, illustrated with many fine engravings, every other page, protected with tissue papers. The picture area of all the engravings is not significantly spoiled by the foxing, despite this being evident in many surrounds. 72pp + 5 additional engravings, plus frontis, possibly 35 plates but hard to count, all appear to be present.
