The spine panel has a worn appearance, but the spine ends have been cleverly re-inforced with matching blue cloth underneath - must be professional as it looks impossible to have gotten these in without either removing the text from the case or splitting the hinges, neither of which has occured. Anyways, gives the book lots of new life and no hinge weakness going forward. Many eng. plates, some a little dusty and stained to edges but reasonable. Inner hinges tight with yellow coated endpapers. A well loved and well cared for copy. 583pp + 32pp adverts dated march 1883.
