Author: Agogos (greek letters)
Title: Hints on Etiquette and the Usages of Society
Description: Book is Good in no dust jacket. Hardcover binding, First Edition, A. Spottiswoode, London, 1900. Pocket size early printing that became popular when reprinted in the 1950's. The values are clearly Edwardian or before, and gilt edges with yellow coated endpapers point to a print date around 1900 or thereby. Pagination commences at p15, but no missing leaves, so this is bound from plates with some leaves deliberately omited. Starts with half-title page. Binding is however original, with gilt decal on front board displaying the author monniker in greek letters. The title omits the later added "with a glance at bad habits" of the reprinted editions. A scarce and very readable fragment of another age. Insides sound and clean, binding relaxed, no cracking, white dusly mark to front board, moderate shelfwear but no fraying thereby. Perfectbound dark blue cloth boards. All edges gilt. pp13-143. Size 16mo
