Description:

Book is Good in no dust jacket. Half-Leather binding, First Edition,
Cramer, Beale and Co, London, 1863. A charming victorian copy, undated, but contains numerous inscriptions in pencil, from which we gather it was bought in 1863 and bound in what appears to say "India Rubber" in 1865, though it looks like typical calf leather to us! The leather at the outer corners has chafed and torn somewhat, though the spine is still supple, helped along by some leather milk which we have applied. Paper covering on boards is ribbed, relatively unworn, and the binding inside is sound with nice marbled endpapers. One or two of the leaves had worked loose, we have tipped them back in. Paper yellowed, dry smelling and free of foxing. Several charming pencil annotations of a musical nature, which would rub out but we feel sure you will want to keep them, they give the book some history! 92pp.
