Book is Very Good in no dust jacket. Half-Leather binding,
Gauthier-Villars, Paris, 1874. Gauthier-Villars, Imprimeur-Libraire, Paris, 1874. This is the text and atlas volumes carefully rebound in interleaved form in a single volume, with both title pages appearing consecutively. Half-leather binding, marbled paper covered boards, spine decorated with raised bands and gilt motifs in compartments, sound solid copy, leather supple with no cracking or such, some foxing, edge rubbing. This book is from the library of Hermann Brück, Scottish Astronomer Royal. There are 2 descriptions on fly-leaf in the hand of Mary Brück, one indicating that this book originally belonged to C.T.R.Wilson, (the Scottish inventor of the cloud chamber) There are no inscriptions by Wilson, we accept the Brück's judgement on this, as there were three other Wilson association copies in their collection. The other inscription refers to the association between Boisbaudran and Charles Piazzi Smyth. More information and photos available on request. 207pp + XXIX plates. Relier demi-cuir, dos à nerfs avec titre et petites décorations dorées, très bon etat, quelques rousseurs, les bords sont légèrement frottés. Ce livre est de bibliothèque de Hermann Brück, astronome écossais royal. Il y a deux descriptions à la page de garde, le premier indique que le propriétaire précédent était le professeur C.T.R.Wilson, la deuxieme refère à Charles Piazzi Smyth.
