'Gun for Sale' has a scuff on the spine hinge, thats the worst flaw in the whole set, could be touched in with care. Gilt bright on unfaded skivertex, a bit rubbed in places on the boards. Faint housey smell of original owner's house, no tobacco or perfume just a shade musty. Yellow place ribbons, great shelf appeal. We think it likely that this set is complete at time of issue. 'Reflex' only appeared in 1980, and probably was not released to Heron in time for the first issue of this set. Heron often updated sets by adding the odd volume or two during the period of their currency. The autobiography was revised by Francis in 1982, and so that is possibly why it was only included in the later 1983 issue of this set. Each book comes with a yellow place-marker ribbon and author portrait frontis, as well as coloured endpapers. The set is in clean tight unfaded condition - the books look uniform on the shelf. A slight musty smell if you stick your nose right in, but no foxing or other effects of poor storage, top edges slightly yellowed and dusty.The pages are super clean inside and the bindings tight.
