A pocket size volume in original full leather binding, plain and worn, but still whole, though front board is detached and holding by chords only. Nice tooling on spine is now faded and hard to see. First few leaves are loose, the glue hasn't held well, but we'll fix them back in if requested, at no extra charge. Minor corner-rubbing and a few light fingermarks on the covers, but quite OK. 253pp.

Description: Book is Very Good in no dust jacket. Blue cloth binding, second edition, Thomas Nelson & Sons, London, 1916. First cheap edition, 1916, of a title which first appeared anonymously in 1906, the second edition bearing the author's name in 1907. This edition has a special two page intorduction by Buchan dated 1916. a tidy and clean and tightly bound copy, with no foxing, top edge gilt, blue covers straight and a little corner rubbed, but nice looking. Gilt titling on the spine is clear and only slightly dulled. Certainly a nice copy of a very scarce Buchan title, which may well have been issued without a dj. 250pp Size 12mo

Description: Book is Good Quarter-leather binding, Delalain, Amsterdam, 1775. The less common letters of Madame de Sévigné to her cousin de Bussy-Rabatin. Letters are dated from 20th May 1667 to 27th anuary 1692, and are examples out of 107 total, probably two or three dozen are selected here. the binding is original, sound and fairly tight, with minor cracking on the spine leather, and general cornerwear. Paper covered boards and simple gilt decorated spine with red leather label, gilt still clear. Inside text block clean with a few freckles, front inner hinge split but holding well by the chords, with lower edge of then title page loose. Steel engraved heraldic private bookplate for Westport House inside front board. 263pp. Size 16mo

Description: Book is Very Good Full-Leather binding, First Edition, Gabriel-Francois Quillau, Paris, 1727. Two volume first edition of this work in contemporary full-leather binding, with nice gilt decoration on the spine. The red label which says "Tom I" is missing, the other three title labels are present, red leather with gilt lettering. There is general edgewear on volume I, with the spine hinge being split 5cm at the top front. The rest of the spine hinges are supple and tight. Volume II has only some cornerwear and general rubbing, also three small worm holes in the spine, but the culprits are long gone. Inside the bindings are tight, the pages generally clean. Marbled brightly coloured whorly endpapers, pages speckled on edges, all leaves present. Engraved frontis on Vol I, "Cyrus Consulte Daniel". 355pp + (224pp voyages ptII, 188pp discourse sur la mythologie). Size 16mo

Title page yellowed at edges and edgeworn. Much of the gilt on the spine can still be seen, although faded and worn, with the bottom half inch of the leather chipped away.
